THE JOURNEY BEGINS!

Howdy! This is our first blog post from our adventures on the path of the paddle. We've been at work for two weeks now and the experience has been great so far. We've already done a fair bit but there's still plenty ahead of us. As I write this I'm sitting on Fire Lake just outside of Atikokan, the canoe capital of Canada. We've been clearing portages in the area recently and have had the chance to take in the sights. For example, we were able to spend time in Quetico park while we worked on our first aid certification and most recently have been fortunate enough to swim in Nym lake after clearing and tracking our portages. We've also had the pleasure to meet some incredible people along the way so far, whether helping us with training or just being curious about our adventure. I'm sure we'll continue to meet great people throughout our adventures and I can't wait to see whats in store. Hopefully we'll be lucky enough to see you on the trail! If not, follow along at home through our blog here and through the path of the paddle facebook page, we'll try to post as often as we can. We're just prepping for a 3 day trip south of Dryden and then a 10 day trip right after starting from Rattlesnake Creek and heading East, so our next post might not be for a bit, just wait I'm sure we'll have some great stories to share!
